Frequently Asked Questions

What is Yoga tune-in?

Yoga TUNE-in, in Denver, Colorado, is Risa Silverman’s (E-RYT 200, RYT 500, TIYT) offering that is the culmination of a decade of teaching, two decades of practicing, countless hours of training and a lifelong love of music. Risa believes that yoga is an invitation to connect to your highest self and her classes are thoughtfully created around this purpose. Each class is a celebration of the moment arrived at through a magical blend of breath, movement and music.

Are these classes suitable for beginners?

Beginners are always welcome! As is the case for anyone practicing, listening to your body is important. If something doesn’t feel good, simply back off of the pose. New students might feel most comfortable arranging their mats in the back of the room at first in order to follow along more easily.

I’m not flexible and can’t even touch my toes, can I still come to yoga?

It sounds like yoga would be incredibly beneficial for you! There are modifications for every pose that will allow you to ease into more flexibility.

Can I practice yoga if I’m pregnant?

This is a great question for your doctor. Generally, if you are having an uncomplicated pregnancy and you have a regular practice already, yoga should be fine. If yoga is new to you, GRACE & GROUNDING is a slow and gentle option that would be appropriate.

On Vagaro I see an option for Nurture gift cards. Can that be used toward class?

Yes! The gift cards can be used toward anything at Nurture.

Is there a waiver I need to fill out prior to class?

Yes. Vagaro will prompt you to complete a waiver online.

Do you offer private sessions?

If time and space allow, yes. Please contact me to inquire: info@yogatunein.com.

Where is Nurture located? Is there parking?

Nurture is in the Highlands area in Denver at 2949 Federal Blvd, 80211 2949 Federal Boulevard. Parking is available (see map).

Are there showers/locker rooms at Nurture?

Yes, there are beautiful facilities to use; please bring your own towel.  If you would like to lock your belongings in a locker, please bring your own lock. There will also be cubbies in the yoga room.

Is there anything I should know if this is my first yoga class?

Please arrive at least 10 minutes early. Wear comfortable workout clothes and bring a small towel and water (or you can purchase at Nurture). If you don’t own a mat, no problem — we will have one for you to borrow. Silence your cell phone and keep it with your belongings either in a cubby or in the locker room. Avoid eating for at least 2 hours prior to class.

Is childcare available?

Yes! Nurturelings is available for you to drop off your children for 2-hour sessions. See Vagaro to sign up.

Do I need to sign up ahead of time to come to class?

Not necessarily, however class could be sold out so it is best to reserve your spot in advance if possible.

For GRACE & GROUNDING, what does “whatever you can spend” mean?

If spending money is not an option for you right now, I still would like to invite you to participate in this class in good faith that you will pay it forward. If you would like to contribute more to support those that are unable to pay right now, that is awesome as well.

For TURN IT UP & FLOW, is this still considered yoga if we are listening to loud music?

Yoga aims to peel away the layers that keep us from remembering our essence. For some of us, music does the same thing. If you are not one of those people then this particular class may not be for you. I would encourage you to look at the schedule and explore the many other amazing options. Ground & Heal would also be something for you to try as the music is a much more subtle part of the experience.

For TURN IT UP & FLOW, what does “warm” mean?

I will simply raise the temperature a bit to encourage the body to warm up and release toxins. The studio is not a hot yoga space, however we will heat it up with our energy.
